Kelsey Garcia received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami and is a board certified physical therapist. The first time she took a pilates class, she was immediately sold on its necessity in the rehab world. Kelsey graduated from the Polestar Pilates program and currently serves as a mentor for other students there. During her time at UM, Kelsey was a co-founder of the first ever student-run pro-bono clinic, with a mission to provide PT services to the uninsured population. She also extended her community outreach across borders and organized the first annual PT Service Mission trip to Costa Rica. Kelsey is very passionate about movement as medicine, community outreach and education, which has helped her create unique experiences for clients through pilates-based rehabilitation.
A true born and bred Texan, Kelsey received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Fitness has always been a cornerstone in both her personal and professional life, with over 15 years of gymnastics and volleyball (and associated injuries) contributing to her initial draw towards the Physical Therapy profession.
Kelsey has experience working in the orthopedic field, treating a plethora of hip, knee, shoulder and spinal injuries. Additionally, she brings experience treating neurological conditions including spinal cord injury, MS, stroke, Parkinson’s and CP.
During her free time, Kelsey enjoys traveling, climbing, running, tracking down a good live music venue, and reading.
