Physical Therapist, Pilates Instructor

Alix is a sports and orthopedic physical therapist, specializing in Pilates-based rehabilitation and Myofascial Release therapy (MFR). She began her career in 2008 at Spaulding Rehab Hospital in Salem, MA as an orthopedic physical therapist in both the outpatient and inpatient setting, and then transitioned her career to strictly Pilates-based rehab complimented by MFR in 2009.

A graduate of the MGH Institute of Health Professions Doctor of Physical Therapy program, Alix has worked in some of the top hospitals in the Boston area, including MGH, Spaulding Rehab Hospital, and Beth Israel-Deaconess. In 2009, Alix’s move to Miami launched her profession in the direction of Pilates-based rehab. She completed her Comprehensive Pilates Training with Polestar Pilates and hasn’t looked back. Alix has studied advanced techniques in MFR and added them to her practice; she feels Pilates and MFR are a beautiful complement that leaves her patients with excellent results.

Throughout her career, she has successfully treated members of the Miami Heat organization, world renowned artists, local and international actors and models, as well as high-profile corporate executives from around the globe. She has also worked with several professional athletes including cyclists, triathletes, Jai Alai Players and dancers all of whose careers depend on strength and stability. She was chosen as a therapist for the Model Beach Volleyball Competition on Miami Beach, and was recruited to be the therapist for the Pro Camps Fantasy Basketball Camps in various locations. Alix has enjoyed traveling to Haiti to perform volunteer physical therapy in extremely impoverished communities of the country.

Today, Alix works at Pilates in the Grove, offering private physical therapy and Pilates, as well as teaching group Pilates classes. Her goal with all of her clients is to bring them to their highest possible level of physical function and return them to a lifestyle or activity they thought was over due to injury. The results she achieves with her clients speak for themselves.

In her free time, Alix enjoys cooking, paddle boarding, reading, studying metaphysics and spirituality, and spending time with her dogs. She also volunteers as a mentor for at-risk teens.
