Marilyn Mardini Arimon was first introduced to Pilates while rehabilitating her knee in 1992. Being a former dancer she saw the similarities with dance and Pilates, and fell in love with this form of movement. In 1995 while studying sports medicine and interning at Health South Sports Medicine in Columbus, Ohio she had the opportunity to use Pilates as a form of exercise to rehabilitate patients.
At Health South, she worked with elite and professional athletes, low back patients and wellness clients. In 1996, Marilyn received her completed her Comprehensive Pilates Training through Polestar Education, in post rehabilitation. Marilyn was the first certified instructor to offer Pilates in Columbus, Ohio. She also had the opportunity to open a small studio offering pilates to fitness and wellness clients. She received her Bachelors in Sports Medicine through Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio, in 1999. In addition Marilyn has also received certifications through Yamuna® Body Rolling, Franklin Method® Level I and Gyrotonic®.
Marilyn owned her own studio, Bodies By Pilates Studio in Coral Gables, Florida for 9 years before merging forces with Pilates in the Grove in December 2015. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching pilates. Marilyn is also co-founder and program director for Core Advancement, a pilates teacher training and education company.
