Born in Toronto, Canada, Karla grew up in Tampa, Florida. At the age of five Karla began playing soccer and thus spurred her love for competitive sports. Karla received her B.A. in Marketing from Temple University’s Fox School of Business (’00), and also played volleyball for the Temple Owls.
Once graduated, Karla moved back to sunny south Florida and began working for the University of Miami. Karla was with the Hurricanes during their 2001-2002 National Championships as an intern in the Athletic Department, Hurricane Ticket Office. After completing her internship with UM, Karla joined the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in 2002. While with the USTA, Karla, along with the Junior Competition Department, oversaw the National Junior Tournament Schedule & Rankings, the National Tournament Directors Conference as well as the Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Tournament. In 2007 Karla joined the Miami Children’s Health Foundation (MCHF), as Director of Events. At MCHF she oversaw event operations for the MCHF Gala, Hug Kiss Fashion Show and many other signature events & fundraisers for the Foundation. In 2014 Karla began working for Flywheel Sports as the South Florida Regional Marketing Coordinator. With Flywheel she oversaw all of the marketing efforts for the three regional studios (Boca, Miami Beach & North Miami). In 2015 Karla made the jump to Pilates in the Grove and now oversees all of the Marketing & Social Media initiatives for Pilates in the Grove.
