Carrie received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Florida International University in 2012. During her time at FIU she also developed into an exceptional Division I Swimmer. A shoulder injury would sideline her and unfortunately eventually end her 15+ year competitive career.
The end of her swimming career would become the beginning of her passion for Pilates. After her shoulder surgery she was looking to implement a new workout routine that would foster her recovery process and still feed her desire for fitness. Shortly after moving to Coconut Grove, she discovered Pilates in the Grove and fell in love with the atmosphere, teachers, and the Pilates method.
After many years grinding it out in Corporate America, Carrie decided to embark on a new adventure and enroll in the Core Advancement Teacher Training at Pilates in the Grove. She completed the program in 2015 and worked as an apprentice to Pilates in the Grove founder Christa Gurka for several months. She is now proud to be a full time member of the Pilates in the Grove team. Carrie believes that Pilates is the perfect addition to her kinetic approach to fitness and loves being able to share that love of movement with others.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. They enjoy paddle boarding, bike riding, traveling and various sporting adventures.
